Our story and call to plant:
The Lord has blessed me with my wife Juli; we have been married for seventeen years. We have two adopted children, as well as two biological children. We have been living and working in Houston for about fifteen years. I was a Police Officer and Sergeant at the Houston Police Department for over thirteen years where I worked in various divisions such as Gangs, Narcotics, SWAT, and I also worked overseas for the State Department. My wife is a Nurse Manager at a Texas Children’s Urgent Care Clinic.
I felt called to ministry full-time so I completed my seminary degree, an M.A. in Theological Studies. I then began working on my M.Div. While praying through leaving the department to pursue ministry, our small group recommended that we pray about planting a church. Our small group committed to supporting us, and that small group is now our launch team. We felt this was a way the Lord collectively called our community and us individually to plant a church. I then approached our Elders/Pastors at Redeemer Church in Tomball, and they agreed to enter a season of prayerfully working through planting a church (assessing and training me). I completed the Foundational Residency program with the Houston Church Planting Network and then received recommendations to plant through Stadia/HCPN and Send SBTC. I left my career and raised financial support to attend the Finishing Residency program with the Houston Church Planting Network and work toward planting a church full-time. I was also a church planting resident at our sending church, Redeemer Church.
We started a core team that met weekly. As a core team, we began a season of building community, recruiting, training, serving the community, and reaching the lost. We covenanted together as a church on January 21st. We prayerfully launched public services on January 28th 2024.
